Climb and Paint
Let's get outta town!
Since the age of ten, the mountains have been my favourite place to be in. The combination of physical challenge, friendships and dramatic views keep me coming back to the Southern Alps time and time again.
These experiences in the mountains are so special that creating paintings that are inspired by these trips seems like the perfect way to relive those highlights. It is my hope that I can learn to pick out the best elements - whether that's the clouds, the trees, the rock faces or some kind of human interaction - and combine them in a way that reminds me of the experience, and even better than a photo. I am especially interested in incorporating human elements into these paintings.
My goal is not only to become better at capturing these moments, but to expand my skill level so I can dive deeper into the Southern Alps. Follow me on instagram or subscribe to help me push the boundaries on these fronts!

Climb and Paint Turner Peak
Possibly the best views I’ve ever seen! Dad and I finally checked out the famous Ball Pass. We camped on the pass and made a spontaneous ascent of Turner Peak. My first proper view of La Pérouse. That evening spent on the summit ultimately led to this painting (and a dream to climb La Pérouse). It’s available here.
