Who am I?

I'm Ben, a 23 year old based in Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand. I dedicate my life to climbing some of New Zealand's highest mountains and creating pieces of art that depict the best elements of these trips. You can join me on this journey here.

I grew up on the islands of Niue, Norfolk and Christmas Islands but moving to New Zealand at the age of ten opened my eyes to a new and exciting environment. I fell in love with snow and the mountains.  Since then I have climbed Mt Aspiring and Mt Sefton and spend hours honing rock craft skills. At the same time I have kickstarted my artistic journey and and create and sell paintings and prints that capture these ventures.  These two aspects of my life are inextricably linked and I feel like there is so much room to grow.

When I'm not at the easel or attached to the end of rope you will find me teaching rock climbing to school kids around Dunedin. I hope you join me and follow along with this "climbandpaint" undertaking!
